A perfected faith on earth prepares for a perfect life in heaven. These simple actions prepare us for spiritual perfection. We can get in our prayer “closets” and worship. Jesus Christ is Alpha and Omega His ministry is the ministry of revelation - He reveals God to us." Jesus Christ is God's last word, and if you want to know about God, you have to come to Jesus Christ. God has spoken in Jesus Christ, and this is His last word. Some say, "I love to sit and look at a beautiful sunset it tells me so much about God." Well, it can but you will learn much more of God's revelation through His Son, Jesus Christ. I have met people who say, "Well, I get so much truth about God from walking in the woods." You can learn some things about God by walking in the woods, but you cannot get the full revelation you have in Christ. ( John 18:37)Īs Warren Wiersbe puts it: "If you want to understand God, you have to know Jesus Christ. Christ began his three-year ministry, sacrificed himself on a cross because he loved us, and cut through His own “time-space” continuum on our behalf.Jesus himself embraced his own “Alpha and Omega” story on earth. But because of his mercy and love, God humbled himself and became a man." ![]() Our finite minds were not meant to comprehend the mysterious King who was before the beginnings of earthly time. In one unified present glance, He comprehends all things from everlasting, and the flutter of a seraph's wing a thousand ages hence is seen by Him now without moving His eyes. "If we grope back to the farthest limits of thought where imagination touches the pre-creation void, we shall find God there. Tozer wrote this on the concept of Alpha and Omega: Key Scripture: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." He is our all-sufficient Lord, who will not fail to complete the good work he has begun in us. ![]() ![]() When you pray to Christ as the Alpha and the Omega, you are praying to the One who is, who was, and who is to come. In the last book of the Bible, Jesus reveals himself as "the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." Present at the world's beginning, Jesus will also be present at its end, when he and his work are finally and fully revealed. Yet what does it mean that God is Alpha and Omega? And it’s amazing to know that God was, is, and ultimately, will be. We understand life cycles, that we are born, we live, and ultimately, we’ll all physically die.Īs spiritual beings, God has rescued us from physical death. We understand that there are beginnings and endings. Where was God before the beginning of time? It’s a question many of us have asked, because as finite humans, we understand God linearly. There’s a question that’s always lingered as I’ve walked with God.
